This project aims to verify the effect that a mentoring program has on the successful adaptation of novice teachers of English to their new role and work environment. It was conducted with a group of six novice teachers of English who have encountered some difficulties during their first years of insertion and have no more than 2 years of teaching. A focus group was conducted to identify the main difficulties that novice teachers had in their first years of teaching. Based on the information gathered, a categorization of the main findings was made, which was the basis to design a support plan implemented and led by the three mentors from Universidad de Los Lagos, Chile, in 2017.
