The objective of this project, based at the Pontifícia Universidade Católica in Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), was to familiarize twelve local public and private sector teachers with the notion of practitioner research for continuing professional development and with various contemporary forms of engaging in this research modality, namely, Reflective Practice, Action Research, and Exploratory Practice. The project gave special emphasis to Exploratory Practice (EP), a form of practitioner research which encourages teachers and learners to enhance their understandings of their own practices. The in-progress reflection and investigative work developed throughout the project has been shared in two local events and will be presented in Buenos Aires.
